Little Rock, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 27, 2025 – Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued an executive order on Wednesday allocating more funding for communities affected by the severe storms and flooding in April.

The order allocates $1.5 million from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund for affected communities.

Wednesday’s executive order amends an April 2 order that initially allocated $250,000 from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund.

On April 2, the National Weather Service confirmed an EF-3 tornado ripped through Craighead County, including Bay, Lake City and Monette. After the storms hit, the area faced severe flooding. Additionally, the state and federal tax deadlines were extended due to the storms.
