Little Rock, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed an executive order authorizing more disaster relief funding in response to April’s severe storms and flooding.

The order authorizes an additional $450,000 from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund to be used by the director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to “defray both program and administrative costs.”

Sanders previously allocated $1.5 million in emergency funding back in August, as well as an initial $250,000 in April. President Donald Trump declared the situation a major disaster in May.

On April 2, the National Weather Service confirmed an EF-3 tornado ripped through Craighead County, including Bay, Lake City and Monette. After the storms hit, the area faced severe flooding. State and federal tax deadlines were also extended for those affected by the storms and/or flooding.
