Matt Barber to lead Fayetteville church students

Fayetteville, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 16, 2025 – Jonesboro native Matt Barber has been named Student Pastor at Cross Church Fayetteville campus.

Cross Church Fayetteville campus pastor Nick Bethea made the announcement to the church’s youth group this week. Barber had served as associate student pastor for the church since July 2024.

Barber is the son of Chris and Michelle Barber. He is a 2016 graduate of Jonesboro High School. Barber married his wife, Lolly, in June 2023.

“She is the better Barber and my best friend,” Barber said on the church’s online profile. Lolly is a graduate of Valley View High School.

Matt attended First Baptist Church in Jonesboro prior to attending the University of Arkansas.

“I was saved as a graduate student at the U of A in November of 2021 and was then baptized at a C3 service that December,” Barber said.

Barber has been attending the Cross Church School of Ministry since 2023.
