Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 8, 2025 – A Jonesboro woman faces a battery charge after a fight Thursday night escalated into a shooting, resulting in a victim getting sent to the hospital.
District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause Aug. 8 to charge 19-year-old Enizha Deshay Henry with first-degree battery with the purpose of causing serious injury with a deadly weapon. Police arrested Henry on Thursday night after a shooting occurred in the 1800 block of Greensboro Road.
According to the affidavit, a detective met with the victim at a hospital, noting their wounds were consistent with those made by gunshots to their right hand and leg.
The victim said Henry and several other people were fighting when Henry pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim. That’s when the victim grabbed the muzzle of the gun and Henry pulled the trigger, causing the victim’s injuries, the affidavit said.
The affidavit said detectives confirmed with two witnesses that Henry was the person who shot the victim. Still shots were also provided of Henry holding the gun amongst the crowd.
During Friday’s hearing, Henry’s attorney argued that due to her age, the bond should have been lowered from the originally proposed $100,000 cash/surety to $75,000 cash/surety.
Fowler complied with the request, adding that Henry has no contact with the victim and must wear a GPS ankle monitor. She also must not be in possession of any weapons.
Henry’s next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 30.
