Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 8, 2025 – Police arrested a Jonesboro man after they said he crashed into a resident’s home and fled after the incident occurred.

According to an affidavit, on June 7, Jonesboro police officers responded to a reported crash on Thorn Street. The victim said that when they got home, they saw an unfamiliar vehicle pull into her driveway right behind them.

As it was late, the victim said they stayed in their vehicle and waited for the other driver to get out. However, after several minutes, the driver of the suspect vehicle accelerated, driving past the victim’s vehicle and directly into their home. The victim then left the area and notified police.

The affidavit said that upon arrival, officers were informed that the driver of the suspect vehicle had been picked up by another vehicle and left the area. The owner of the suspect vehicle then arrived, identifying the driver as 38-year-old Antwon Demorris Bailey.

Officers were later told that Bailey had taken the vehicle without the owner’s knowledge while they were asleep.

Upon discovering the vehicle was missing, the owner contacted Bailey and told him to return it. When failing to do so, the owner used a location service to find the vehicle on Thorn Street.

They drove to the location and found that the vehicle had been wrecked, with Bailey slumped over the steering wheel. The owner woke him up and took him to their place.

The affidavit noted that the estimated damage to the home was $10,000. It goes on to say that Bailey did not contact police about the incident nor did he return to the scene. He was eventually arrested on Aug. 6.

On Aug. 8, Craighead County District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause to charge Bailey with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage only (greater than $10,000).

Bailey is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash/surety bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 30.
