Craighead County, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 13, 2025 – The Craighead County Sheriff’s Department is warning residents of a new scam.

According to a Facebook post from the department, it received a phone call from a man in Conway, who said a “Lt. Scott Crawford” had called him wanting information about his mother while claiming to be a civil process server for Craighead County.

The sheriff’s office said it does not employ Scott Crawford.

“This is a new scam; this is just a reminder that they are using different tactics and reasons for calls. We urge you not to fall victim to these scams. If you are not sure, hang up and call the Sheriff’s office and ask to speak with a detective,” assistant chief Jason Allen wrote in the post.
