Closures happening across Jonesboro in response to winter weather

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Multiple services are announcing closures or reduced hours in response to severe winter weather moving through the area.

City of Jonesboro Government:

City Hall and all non-essential city services will be closed Jan. 26-27. This includes sanitation and JET services; however, JET’s essential paratransit services will run. Essential services will remain open.

Those needing a ride to a warming center are asked to call the Jonesboro Police Department’s non-emergency number, which is (870) 935-5553, to make arrangements. JPD will only provide rides to warming shelters.

In a Facebook post, the city said JET services will run on Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It said its fixed route services would be adjusted to its Saturday routes and that this schedule would “have accessible bus stops on the Red, Blue and Green Routes.”

The post noted that there could be route deviations due to road conditions.

Craighead County Government:

All county offices and courthouses will be closed Jan. 26-27. Essential services, like the Road Department, Sheriff’s Department and Detention Center will be operational.

The Quorum Court meeting scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26 has been rescheduled for Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m.

Any District Court matters set for Jan. 26 have been moved to Thursday, Jan. 26, at 9 a.m. Matters scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27, have been moved to Tuesday, March 24, at 9 a.m.

Jonesboro and Lake City courthouses will reopen on Jan. 28.

St. Bernards Healthcare:

Emergency departments in all three St. Bernards hospitals, which are located in Jonesboro, Pocahontas, and Wynne, are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Urgent Care Clinics:

The Parker Road and Red Wolf Boulevard clinics will open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27. The Kennett clinic will open Tuesday at 9 a.m., and the Manila clinic will open at noon.

The Paragould clinic will open Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 5 p.m.

NEA Baptist:

Emergency Departments:

Emergency departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Urgent Care Clinics:

The following will be closed Jan. 27:

  • Cherokee Village
  • Newport
  • Osceola
  • NUCOR
  • Trumann

The following will be on adjusted hours on Jan. 27:

  • Brookland clinic: Opening at 8 a.m.
  • Paragould clinic: Opening at 9 a.m. Physical therapy opens at 7 a.m.
  • Dermatology: Opening at 9 a.m.
  • Pain management: Opening at 9 a.m.

Family Crisis Center:

The Family Crisis Center’s administrative office will be closed Jan. 26-27. However, its 24/7 Crisis Hotline remains available, and can be reached at 870-933-9449.

Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas:

Closed Jan. 26-27. In addition, the USDA food distribution in Craighead County has been rescheduled.

Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library:

Closed Jan. 26-28

Forrest L. Wood Nature Center

Closed Jan. 26-28. All trails are closed as well.

Northeast Arkansas Humane Society:

Closed Jan. 26-27; however, the low-cost clinic, medical visits, and meet-and-greets scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27 are happening. Phones will not be answered.
