Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – Aug. 15, 2025 – Arkansas State baseball head coach Mike Silva announced Friday the addition of Michael Agis to the Red Wolves’ 2026 coaching staff as Director of Player Development.
The San Antonio, TX, native spent the previous two seasons in the same position at the University of Central Florida, where he worked closely with the team’s pitching staff. He served as a volunteer coach at St. Mary’s University prior to his time with the Knights.
“I am excited to have Michael join our staff for the upcoming season,” Silva said. “He has climbed the high school and collegiate ranks as a coach and is deserving of the opportunity. I believe his impact on the team will make us stronger, so we are excited to get to work.”
Agis acquired four years of experience at the high school level, coaching at East Central High School in San Antonio for one season before moving to Claudia Taylor High School for the next three.
As a player, he was an all-conference pitcher at Broward College (2013-15) before completing his career at Florida International University (2016-17). The Harlandale High School alumnus was an all-district pitcher from 2011-13 and was named the 2010 Newcomer of the Year for the Indians.
Agis was selected in the 36th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies, pitching in the organization from 2017-19.
