Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 21, 2025 – A Jonesboro man is being held on a $200,000 cash/surety bond after police said he beat a person in their own home, held them at knife point, and threatened to kill them.

District Judge David Boling found probable cause Aug. 20 to charge 31-year-old Aaron Matthew Jones with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and first-degree criminal mischief. This comes after an investigation into a stabbing that occurred Aug. 3 in on Maple Street.

According to the affidavit, Jones entered the victim’s home without permission and refused to leave. Jones then became violent and reportedly began beating the victim with a blunt object and holding them at knife point, threatening to kill them and not allowing them to leave his sight.

Objects belonging to the victim were also thrown, causing damage to the home, the affidavit said. The victim eventually escaped and ran to a neighbor’s house to call for help.

Police noted that the victim had a cut to their foot, bruising on their face, and a bloody head. Broken glass on the floor, a busted television, and overturned furniture were also seen inside the home, but Jones was unable to be found. Evidence from a witness and video footage confirmed that the incident occurred, the affidavit said.

Jones was later arrested on Aug. 15, according to the online jail roster.

In addition to the $200,000 bond, Boling ordered Jones to have no contact with the victim.

Jones’ next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 30.
